About NiceTown CDC

The NTCDC was founded in 1999 by members who bring a collective track record of decades of experience in developing the community. This includes economic, housing, and small business development, social service delivery, community engagement, and special events coordination. The Nicetown CDC headquarters is located at 4414 Germantown Avenue, a historically significant property which was purchased in 1997 and redeveloped by President/CEO Zakariyya Abdur Rahman. This multi-level building houses Z&Z Distributors, Solutions Banquet Hall, and the Nicetown CDC Corporate Complex. The facility is recognized as one of the strengths of Nicetown, and illustrates the NTCDC’s development capacity.

The Nicetown CDC headquarters is located at 4414 Germantown Avenue, a historically significant property which was purchased in 1997 and redeveloped by President/CEO Zakariyya Abdur Rahman. This multi-level building houses Z&Z Distributors, Solutions Banquet Hall, and the Nicetown CDC Corporate Complex. Neighborhood Advisory Committee History

In 2002, The Nicetown CDC was selected by the community and the City to be the administrator for the Nicetown Neighborhood Advisory Committee. (NTCDC/NAC) The NTCDC/NAC is a resident-elected Committee, governed by the Office of Housing & Community Development (OHCD) to deliver vital social services to low-moderate income residents in the NTCDC/NAC service area. In 2006, this service area was expanded, and today the NTCDC/NAC also serves its constituency from their satellite office in West Oak Lane. The NTCDC/NAC is a program of the Nicetown CDC, and ensures resident participation in the community development process.

The NiceTown CDC Community Center

The Nicetown CDC totally redeveloped this formerly abandoned property located at 4300 Germantown Avenue. It is the headquarters for the NTCDC/NAC, and also houses the NTCDC Neighborhood Energy Center, NTCDC/ Computer Lab, and Mural Arts After School Program, which provides arts and cultural enrichment for youth ages 10-18. The NTCDC Community Center also provides a Food Cupboard, and meeting space for the Block Captain Committee Of Nicetown.
